OMD Lighting Wraps Up a Landmark Appearance at the 140th Canton Fair

The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) concluded successfully from October 15 to 19, 2026, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. Drawing consistent foot traffic from North American distributors, electrical contractors, and OEM procurement teams throughout all five days.

Booth Highlights: Three Core Product Pillars

Our exhibit was organized around three clearly defined product zones, each addressing a distinct segment of the North American lighting hardware market:

1. Recessed Lighting Series The centerpiece of our left-side display wall featured our complete Recessed Lighting lineup — from ultra-slim Canless Recessed Lighting to standard can light modules. Visitors were particularly drawn to our 5CCT selectable models (2700K–5000K via on-unit switch), which eliminate the need to stock multiple color temperature SKUs and simplify procurement for large-scale projects.

2. Housing & Mounting Plate Our dedicated Housing panel showcased the full structural ecosystem: New Construction Recessed Light Housing, Remodel Recessed Light Housing, New Construction Mounting Plate, and Rough In Plate accessories. The physical sample rack on the right side of the booth allowed buyers to directly compare housing dimensions, bracket mechanisms, and material quality — a hands-on experience that generated strong interest from commercial project developers.

3. Commercial Recessed Solutions The right panel highlighted our Commercial Recessed product range, including 4", 6", and 10" professional-grade recessed systems and our Fire Rated Recessed Light collection. Several visitors from multi-family housing developers expressed particular interest in our fire-separation-compliant housing, which carries UL/ETL certification and meets current IBC requirements.

Over the five days of the fair, our team held in-depth conversations with buyers from across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Several consistent themes emerged from these discussions:

Compliance is non-negotiable. Buyers repeatedly highlighted UL/ETL listing, IC-rating, and California Title 24 compliance as baseline requirements — not differentiators. OMD's fully certified product lines met these requirements without exception.

Installation efficiency drives purchase decisions. Products that reduce on-site labor — particularly our Canless Recessed Lighting and snap-in Mounting Plate accessories — generated the most sustained interest among electrical contractors.

5CCT flexibility is a stocking advantage. Distributor buyers consistently identified our selectable color temperature range as a meaningful inventory management benefit, reducing dead stock risk on large housing projects.
