CRI, or Color Rendering Index, describes how accurately a light source shows the colors of objects compared with natural light. A higher CRI generally produces more natural-looking colors, which is especially useful in kitchens, bathrooms, retail spaces, galleries, and areas where finishes and materials need to be judged accurately.

Lumens measure the amount of visible light produced by a fixture. A higher lumen rating generally means a brighter light, but the best choice also depends on ceiling height, room size, spacing, wall color, and the intended use of the space.
